Error codes for Potterton Boiler

Potterton manufactures a wide range of heating and cooling products. Potterton makes a variety of different products that are used for heating and cooling purposes, including boilers, furnaces, and air conditioners. Potterton makes a variety of different boilers that can produce hot water and steam, but each model has its own set of features and capabilities.

Boilers produce heat by rotating a rotating element that creates hot water or steam, and they can be used for a variety of different things. Potterton boilers are very durable, and they’re easy to use.

But Potterton boilers are not immune to problems caused by error codes. Errors like this are common problems that Potterton boiler owners face. In this article, we’ll talk about some of the most common error codes that are associated with Potterton boilers, and we’ll also explain some useful tips on how to fix them.

If your boiler pressure is too low, it will stop working completely and display an error code. When the boiler pressure drops below 0.6 bar, a code will appear on various boiler models, including: Promax, Suprima, system and store boilers.

If you get a low-pressure fault code on your Potterton boiler, just pushing the button to reset the boiler won’t fix the problem. You’ll notice that the pressure in your boiler is constantly dropping — you won’t be able to start the boiler again even after pressing the reset button on the control panel.

If your boiler codes indicate that it is low, simply filling the system with more water will cause it to stop working. If the boiler fan is not working, it will continue to leak water and cause water damage to your home.

You need to find where the leak is, and fix it as quickly as possible. Sometimes, it is just as easy to re-solder a copper joint (and it won’t cost you much), but on other occasions, boiler parts may need to be replaced (for example, the pump seal).

E160 and E161

There will be a small whistling sound that occurs when you turn on your boiler, which usually lasts about two to five seconds before the boiler fires up.

This is an unusual sound that comes from the boiler fan. The fan in your Potterton boiler causes a drought that causes harmful gasses to flow out of the boiler. The boiler needs to recognise when the fan is working before it can start up.

Sometimes, fixing the wiring in your boiler can solve the problem, but other times, you will need to buy new boiler parts. If the cost of repairs exceeds £500, it’s probably worth replacing your boiler with a new one. A boiler that has a long warranty will mean that you won’t have to pay for repairs.

E20 and E28

Another common error code that Potterton boilers give is that the boiler heats up radiators but stops heating them once they reach a certain temperature.

Get an engineer to check whether the boiler is on the right setting by checking the NTC thermostat. If your boiler is operating normally, there’s a good chance that cleaning the boiler will solve the problem.
