Error codes for Xbox 360

Xbox 360 is the successor to the famous Xbox, and is now the number one selling gaming console in the United States. Microsoft Corporation developed a system that allowed the Xbox to return more accurate error codes when it encountered problems.

It is possible that the Xbox will stop completely and that problems will not be caused by incorrect settings. Users of Xbox need to be able to figure out 1) what is meant by an error code on their console and 2) what to do if an error code is showing on their console.

Xbox 360 Error Code 1 means that the AV cable is disconnected. If all 4 console LED lights turn red, the AV cable has been shorted. If this does not work, try re-securing the AV cable that is plugged into the console. If that doesn’t help, try connecting the console using a completely new set of AV cables to the television or to the game console.

If that does nothing, switch the console off and try disconnecting all the cables that connect to the Xbox.

Afterwards, try turning the console back on. Firmly disconnect all cables and reconnect all connections and try again to start the console. If you still have problems with this, try removing the hard drive completely, disconnecting the power and all cables. If that does not fix the problem, disconnect the Xbox 360 hard drive and reinstall it. If no light is coming from the Xbox 360, turn it off and reconnect the cables and re-install the hard drive.

Xbox 360s can overheat for countless reasons, including when a console is left unattended or when other devices are left sitting on or under the console. Turn the Xbox off and leave it to cool completely for a few hours. Relocates the game console containing an Xbox console residing in an unheated area.
