There are various errors that can occur when you try to play Fortnite. One of the most common errors is the Fortnite 401 error code. This error occurs when you try to connect to the server or when you try to access your account information after an update has been installed on your computer or mobile device. So, when you see this error, it may be annoying and frustrating and you may not be able to access the game properly. You may also lose all your progress in the game. Usually, you need to perform a few troubleshooting steps to fix this error.

  1. Restart and reopen fortnite.

That would be the most basic troubleshooting step in the road to removing the error. After that, we will close Fortnite and the launcher and try to get back into matchmaking.

Right-click on the taskbar to open Task Manager. In the task manager,  look for Epic Games Launcher and  Left-Click on it. Right-click on the folder and choose End Task. Similar to this, right-click on Fortnite and click on End Task. Then it is time to play epic games. Launcher and launcher for Fortnite. Next, try connecting to the server again and it should work.

  1. Change the region for matchmaking.

Because it is possible that the server in your matchmaking region is having trouble, it is possible that there will be many unsuccessful matchmaking attempts, so in this step we will be changing the matchmaking region in order to eliminate that problem. To change the settings, in the top right-hand corner of the screen, click on the menu icon and select the settings icon. Now, on the top click on the gear icon to change the region where the matchmaking happens. Apply the settings, and then try to play the game later.

The final thing you can do is call customer service to get this error fixed. You can also contact them by calling their customer service number or by visiting their website. When you tell the customer support department an error code that is showing on your screen, they will usually ask you to send the code to them. They will tell you what to do next and how to approach this problem.
