Google Nest error E297

One of the most common errors that you might encounter when you try to use Google's services is Google E297 error. This error occurs when you try to access your thermostat or when you try to log into your account. This error can be annoying and frustrating because you cannot access the services properly.

The problem can be caused by an issue with your device system. If the system is in trouble, then it is possible to stop sending power to the thermostat. Another possible reason is that you live at a very high or low temperature place so this code appears. To fix this error, you need to try a few solutions.

The Google E297 Error means that your nest thermostat requires a C wire, Y1 wire, or nest power connector installed on the device. It usually occurs when you do not install the C wire, and the C wire does not have enough power for your thermostat. However, if you already installed C wire but still got this code, it means that your thermostat needs an update.

You can try to check your thermostat to make sure if there is a C wire or not. First, turn off your thermostat and pull off the display. You need to check the wire system and see if the C wire is there or not.  If your thermostat does not have a C wire, you need to perform a system check for your spare wire. Connect your spare wire that you found on the thermostat end to the C board terminal. Make sure it is all the way down. Then you need to turn back the display and turn on your thermostat system. You need to see on the screen if the error code appears again or not. If your thermostat has a wire in the C's connector, you need to make sure it is in the right position. Make sure it’s in all the way and the connector button is down.

Furthermore, you need to update your thermostat system, if you have already installed C wire but still got this code. You can do it by clicking Settings > Software > Update. Then, you need to wait until the update is installed on your thermostat. Sometimes you also need to update your wiring info by clicking Settings > Thermostat > Wiring > Update Wiring > Update any incorrect wiring information on your thermostat. After that, you need to restart or reset your thermostat before using it like usual.
