Sharp has a reputation for producing good products, but some people have encountered Sharp E1 errors.
This is a typical error that indicates that a suction thermistor has been short circuited. Unplug the power cord from the power source and restart the unit again. Find and hold down the Mode button on the unit's control panel and push it down. This causes the unit to run normally. Holding down the Mode button for approximately three seconds, plug the unit back into the power supply. After waiting three seconds, the unit should restart normally. Wait until the unit beeps for approximately three seconds before you press the Mode button. When the unit beeps for approximately three seconds, stop pushing the Mode button.
If you let go of the Mode button, your unit should start functioning normally; however, you must press the Power button to stop the unit. Push the button again to start the unit; this time, press the button again to begin operating the unit. You should get a reset message indicating that everything has been reset successfully and it should now function normally.
If the E1 error code indicates that it is time to change the air filter, then disconnect the power and clean the filter. If you get an E1 error code because some of the buttons on your control panel are dirty or stuck or are wet and are not functioning properly, disconnect power to your unit and try cleaning and drying them with a compressed air can.
