This is a very efficient robotic vacuum cleaner that is perfect for cleaning your carpets, rugs and hardwood floors. However, it's not without its faults. Users have complained that this product is not worth the money because it's prone to malfunctioning.
In some cases, Roborock might freeze or reboot while cleaning your floors. This problem can be caused by many different factors such as incorrect installation of the app and/or robotic vacuum cleaner’s batteries being dead. Maybe you would notice that the brush was not spinning all the time you turned it on, because it would instead stop and start randomly and then throw an error repeatedly.
Generally, the 17 code refers to a malfunction in the side brushes, or a broken roller brush. The only real solution to this issue is really to reset the system and hope for the best. However, you can also try cleaning the side brushes with a toothbrush and soft bristled brush. You can also try to replace the roller brush by using a special brush that is compatible with Roborock vacuum cleaners, or simply remove it and clean it thoroughly.
You can also try to take the vacuum apart and clean out any debris that might be clogging up the roller brush. You can also try cleaning the area around where you removed it, by using a toothbrush with soft bristles. Additionally, use some compressed air to blow all of the dust and dirt off of your brushes so they’re easier to push into position when you put them back together. Check to see if there's any debris or dirt that's caught in the side brush, and if so, remove it with a small screwdriver or similar cleaner.
Keep in mind that in the process of cleaning, you're likely to also break some of the parts if you’re not careful, especially if your Roborock has gone through a lot of wear and tear. So treat this process gently. If you notice that something is still broken or if there's a piece missing from your brush rollers, be sure to document it so that when you do have time and money available, you can order replacements for any broken pieces.
If you want to play it safe, you can also try to remove the side brush roller, clean it with a toothbrush and soft bristled brush. Then replace the piece with one that is compatible with your Roborock vacuum cleaner model. You can also consider taking apart your vacuum cleaner, cleaning out any debris or dirt that might be blocking it up and then reassembling it all together again.
