The problem can be caused by an issue with your device system. If the system is in trouble, then it is possible to stop sending power to the thermostat. Another possible reason is that you live at a very high or low temperature place so this code appears. To fix this error, you need to try a few solutions.
The Google E257 error occurs because a heat pump requires the Y1 wire. The Y1 wire of your thermostat needs to be checked if this error appears. The Google E257 Error usually happens on Nest Thermostat. To solve this problem, you need to check the wire configuration from the home app.
You can follow these steps: Home App > Tap the thermostat > Settings > Thermostat > Wiring > Update Wiring > Read The Information > Follow the steps and update the wire > Test the system. Then, you need to check your thermostat and check the heating or cooling process.
If the error still occurs, you need to check the wire system and make sure each cable is connected to the right connector. You can check the wiring diagram and refer to the picture of your thermostat.
